Thermal Insulation from basalt
Thermal insulation based on basalt fiber belongs to one of the products newly developed by JSC “Polotsk-Steklovolokno”. Basalt is a natural highly durable material, which remains stable in corrosive environment. Products made of basalt have long life span. The main difference between basalt thermal insulation and E-glass insulation is in higher thermal stability of the material during operation – up to 800°С, which significantly widens the range of its applications.
After preliminary trials, first lots of needlepunched thermal insulation material IPB-T-1000(1400) have already found their customers and are successfully used for thermal insulation of piping, power equipment, and building constructions.
