Working at the markets with high competition JSC “Polotsk-Steklovolokno” has a number of advantages, the most important among those is that glass fiber production at our factory includes all technological processes, starting from production of rovings, glass fiber forming, its processing and ending with glass fabric finishing. This will allow to provide a wider range of products and to respond promptly to the wishes of the clients, to be stable and flexible at the world markets.

  •   Batch preparation

Modern technologies of batch preparation process provide drying, grinding, classification of any natural materials.

  • Glass melting

Glass melting processes are made in glass melting recuperative furnaces with usage of modern refractory materials, electric boosting, with high degree of automatic control systems and glass melting processes regulation.

  • Glass fiber forming


Glass fiber forming is made by two methods: direct glass melting process and marble process. The main volume of the goods is made by direct melting process, which is a more progressive one. Fiber produced in the form of direct rovings goes for drying (high frequency dryer or convection) and is used as commercial grade direct roving or depending upon final designation is rewound and is subjected to texturizing.

Fiber produced in the form of glass yarns goes for twisting.

  • Twisting, plying.

The equipment of unwinding-twisting area provides the production of yarn of different configuration, different amount of plies, twists, package weight depending upon further application.

  • Warping, slashing

A warping process is preparation of warp for weaving which is a system of glass yarns with parallel winding on a warping beam. After warp preparation for protection of yarns in the process of weaving glass yarn is additionally treated — slash is applied.

  • Weaving

Weaving production has a wide stock of modern weaving equipment, allowing to produce any types of glass fabrics in thickness, weave, density, width up to 3 meters.

  • Thermal and chemical treatment.

At the request of the customer glass fabric can be subjected to different types of treatment — thermal and chemical treatment (application of different impregnating compositions), which gives special required properties to glass fabrics.


Glass fiber and the goods on its basis are made by the enterprise from different types of glasses, which allows us to occupy different market niches and offer a diverse range of products.

Е-glass — the most commonly used glass of general purpose, used for production of electric insulation, construction, building and thermal insulation materials, where strength and high electrical endurance are required. Materials made of silica and Puresil are used as high temperature insulation, as replacement of articles made of asbestos and quartz, their operating temperature exceeds +10000С, which allows to use the given materials as wonderful thermal barrier, protective means from fire and effect of extremely high temperatures. VMP — high-modulus glass used for production of composite materials which require high strength and stability under influence of extreme temperature and corrosion environment.
